Working in the international oil industry in 6 countries
Bob Ericson graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from UBC in 1968. He joined the oil industry and worked for 3 international companies, Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), Amoco, and British Petroleum. Bob’s career spanned 33 years, six years in Canada then 26 years in 6 countries to include, Indonesia, Egypt, USA, United Kingdom, Norway and Azerbaijan. He says his personal highlights were 7 years in Norway followed by 2 years running Canadian Marine Drilling (Artic Drilling). He says the most stressful time was the last 2 years in Azerbaijan as Chief Operating Officer for a significant project that had issues with corruption with some massive geo political implications.
