![]() Robert Forbes – Angel in a Spitfire The largely unknown story of RCAF Wing Commander Lloyd Vernun Chadburn, Distinguished Service Order & Bar, Distinguished Flying Cross, Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur, Croix de Guerre avec Palme. He was Canada’s most decorated fighter pilots of WWII. Known as “the Angel” by American Bomber crews for his fearless escort missions into Nazi-occupied Europe. He led RCAF 416 Squadron during the Dieppe Raid in 1942, then commanded the Canadian Digby Wing in 1943 and RCAF 127 Wing over D-Day. Rob Fobes explores Chadburn’s meteoric career. |

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)
![]() Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is a process whereby a doctor or nurse practitioner helps and supports a patient who wants to voluntarily, intentionally end their suffering. Medical Assistance in Dying has been legal in Canada since June 2016 and is governed under federal law. Our speaker, Rosanne Beuthin, has a PhD in Nursing, and in her career has focused on practice and research in the areas of living with life threatening illness, death, and bereavement. From 2016 to 2021 She had a lead role in the development and implementation of an island wide program for “Medical Assistance in Dying.” She worked to establish a MAiD House (non-profit) in Victoria – the second of its kind in Canada. |
