David Broad introduced the speaker Steve Wallace and his wife Joan Wallace, of Wallace Driving School. The Wallace family have been in the driver education business since 1976, and both Mr. & Mrs. Wallace are active executive members of North American Driver Education Association. Mr. Wallace has also been active in municipal government, having served as mayor of Quesnel and as Chair of the B.C. Municipality governing association.

 

Mr. Wallace provided an excellent presentation on the necessity of preparing for the age-80 mandatory medical letter needed to obtain a Driver’s License renewal at that age. He recommends obtaining a driver abstract, taking your insurance documents to demonstrate the good-driver discount shown thereon. He also advised that by Googling LLDWDS you can, at a cost of US$39.95 take an on-line skill test that can get you a “Lifetime Safe Driver Certificate” that can assist in convincing the doctor that you should be permitted to continue driving without the necessity of a driving test.
