Next Probus Monthly meeting will be January 8, 2026

Frank Wilson  has received various writing awards, his works appearing in magazines and anthologies in Canada and the UK.  Retired university professor from the UK, Frank Wilson, has been living in Victoria since 2008.  He has published three books of short stories, one history book and seven collections of poetry including his “Oak Bay and Not far Away” (2023 and reprinted 2024) and “Looking for the Words” (2025).

Frank’s presentation draws on his experience of working with images created by artists and photographers which began with his first collection of poems and has continued ever since. Over time he has collaborated with thirty different image makers and will illustrate the challenges and opportunities through examples from his published collections. As such I will explore the way I am “Looking for the Words” which the image provokes and in turn the way in which the words try to enhance the image.
