The Mary Winspear Centre

Del Elgersma is a founding partner of Beacon Law Centre, practicing in the areas of business law, estate planning and trusts, and real estate. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Saanich Peninsula Memorial Park Society. The Memorial Park Society (MPS) was central to the planning and construction of the Mary Winspear Centre and continues to oversee the Mary Winspear Centre and Blue Heron Park as trustee on behalf of the residents of the Saanich Peninsula. He is also a Director of the Saanich Marine Rescue Society. Del will be speaking to the club about the history and operation of the Mary Winspear Centre. |

Our August outing is this August 12, 2026 with tee times starting at 12:02. We have reserved four tee times.
This year's business arrangement with Cedar Hill is a little different. We are required to register as an "event". As such, we must pay in full on August 5 before the event. Green fees, including shared power carts and taxes, will be $88.45 per person. Payment, via interact e-transfer (dougroyross@icloud.com) must be made on or before July 29. If you haven't paid by then, you will be dropped from the tee sheet.
A couple of points to be made: if you like to walk, that's fine but you'll still have to pay for the half power cart. The golf course requires this to save 8 carts for us; a decision will be made by August 4 to proceed with the event. If the weather looks bad or we don't get enough people (at least three foursomes), the event will be cancelled. In the event of cancellation, all moneys will be returned to the players via internet e-transfer.
The August 4 decision date is firm because if we proceed by paying in full and we get rained out, we can't get our money back.
These stricter rules for groups at Cedar Hill is inconvenient for us. If it proves difficult after the first outing, we may change our venue for the August Cedar Hill event.
