Tom Wallace introduces District Governor Keith McGregor

Mr. McGregor was present to mark the 25th  Anniversary of the founding of Probus Club of Saanich Peninsula, May 9, 1994. Keith noted that Probus provides opportunities for members to make new friends, provide companionship and services to one another and to the wider community, and encouraged members to recruit new members to the club. He informed us that there are 24 Probus clubs on Vancouver Island, comprised of 3,655 members, which represents about 10% of the 250 clubs in Canada, made up of 37,000 members. He noted that only one other Vancouver Island club, one in Parksville, has marked 25 years of existence.  Keith also urged members to purchase Probus license plate frames at a cost of $2.50. Rod Fimrite will offer the frames to members as they check in at the May 2 general meeting.   Mr. McGregor also noted that the Probus Canada website, which is: Probus.org has been updated.

Keith then presented the 25th Anniversary Certificate to president Tom Wallace and to Al Radons, the only surviving founding member.
