President: Randy Mains to go over results of the survey put out to the group on Club Runner. At next meeting he will ask the club if there is an interest in a Nordic walking group. Doug Ross to give more details on that at the May 21 st meeting. It was suggested Don Amos give an update on his dealings with the Brentwood Group as to possible amalgamation.
Events: Michael McLoughlin Update on the barbecue that was to take place June 11 th . Ralph Salomons to look into how many volunteers have signed up so far. As a group, it was decided we change the date to July 23 rd 4-6 Centennial Park because we are running out of time to let the members pay for a June BBQ. Also weather should be better. Suggested price per person up from $25 to $30.
Past President/Speaker rep: Doug Watt April 21st speaker: Darin Steinkey’s People’s History Project The People’s History Project is Darin Steinkey’s attempt to write, edit and publish the extraordinary stories of everyday people—from peace walkers to soldiers in the trenches, artists, oilmen, politicians, journalists and stay-at-home parents. His view is that we all have fascinating lives, and it’s important to tell future generations about them in their own words. Since 2007, Darin has helped writers tell their histories from their perspective.
Speaker for the July 2 nd meeting will be representing Medical Assistance in dying suggested that wives be invited to attend.
Vice President: Doug Ross. In charge of summer golf now. Golf courses booked through August.
Treasurer: Noel Currie: Finances solvent through September 2026.
Membership: Brian Muir Two new members. Doug Ross said he also has a prospective member.
