FRANK GARNETT
June 7, 1926 - November 17, 2022
Past President 2005 -2006

November 17, 2022 marked the end of an era with the peaceful passing of Frank Joseph Garnett at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital at the age of 96. Frank was born June 7, 1926 inVancouver, twin brother to his late sister, Betty Jones.

He grew up in Victoria, a third generation Vancouver Islander, and later began a career as a successful businessman while working in Canada, the USA and Australia. After retiring in Calgary, he and his wife, Betty, spent their winters in Arizona as well as travelling the world, making lifelong friends wherever they went. In 1996 they decided it was time to return to the Island where they have put down roots on the Saanich Peninsula. Frank was the ultimate host, always welcoming people into his home and entertaining them with unparalleled good humor.

Frank was much loved and will be remembered and missed by his wife of 71 years, Betty, his four sons, Greg (Patti), Paul (Angie), Clark (Angi) and Scott (Jayson), special niece, Donna, along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the care and compassion that was given to Frank by his caregivers during the last while so that he was able to remain in his home with Betty.

There will be a Celebration of Frank's 96 years on January 21, 2023. Those who would like to be kept updated on the Celebration of Life can contact the family at cheers2frank@gmail.com.
